The Singapore Island Country Club is a prestigious club with a membership that includes many prominent businessmen and statesmen. Its exclusivity makes it one of the most sought after golf clubs. The second oldest club in Singapore, it has four 18-hole golf courses at two separate locations, called the Bukit and the Island Locations.
The Bukit Location has the Bukit and Sime Courses & The Island Location is home to the New and Island Courses. The courses are matured and very well maintained.
The most popular of its four golf courses is the 18-hole Bukit Course at Sime Road. Although part of it borders the MacRitchie Reservoir, water only comes into play on three holes. Much of the course has wide fairways leading down to lakeside greens. All the long holes on the second nine are doglegs with sloping fairway lies.
The Sime Course's first nine plays away from the Bukit Clubhouse down to Lornie Road while the second nine weaves in between the fairways of the Bukit Course. At Hole 8, there is a double water crossing requiring an accurate drive onto a lakeside promontory. The second nine features a number of blind uphill drives and banking doglegs.
