  General Description

Impian Golf & Country Club

Impian Golf & Country Club poses an exciting challenge to both amateur and professional golfers. Designed by the famous Australian golf course architect Ross C. Watson and Malaysian landscape designer Tze To Kok Yin, the undulating course should bring the golfer back time and time again. This is achieved by employing the strategic design principle, which places the accent on reward for risk - "the greater the risk, the greater the reward".

The tees, rough, fairways and aprons are carpeted with Greenlees Park Bermuda Grass and the greens are Tifdwarf Bermuda.

Course Layout :

The 6,120 metre par 72 layout certainly presents many challenges to golfers of all levels. This is most noticeable at the 359 metre par-4 9th, where the best shot to the green is from the left side of the fairway - which just happens to be guarded by a lake. A prime example of the risk/reward factor. This "r/r" factor is also in evidence at the 166 metre par-3 12th, which requires a complete carry over water to a narrow green protected by bunkers front and back - that is if you want to secure your par, or even a possible birdie - while a lay-up fairway to the right of the green has been provided for the less-intrepid.

Another "r/r" hole is the short, 430 metre par-5 five 17th which seriously tempts golfers to go for a birdie late in their round. However, at this double dog-leg hole, this means flirting with fairway bunkers from the tee and with the pond that lies to the right of the green with your second shot.
