This is one of the earliest Golf & Country Club to be developed during the boom years when the trend then in Malaysia was to turn plantation and swamp lands into luxurious golf & country resorts. Starhill Golf & Country Club was designed by Mitsui Construction Company which turned the 460 acres plantation and swamp land into 2 x 18 holes championship golf courses with condominiums, hotel and private housing facilities.

As it is one of the earliest Golf Clubs to be developed in Johor, the trees lining the sides of the fairways are now taller and maturing making the fairways tighter. Wayward shots to the neighbouring fairways will now be risky difficult to recover by hitting over the trees.

The colonial styled clubhouse perched atop a hill commanding a spectacular view of the surroundings In addition there is a water theme park incorporating a swimming lagoon, a water slide, waterfall and a water games area for children. The caddies are experienced and can take care of 4 golfers with ease.

Coming from Singapore, proceed along the old Johor-Kuala Lumpur trunk road and head for Skudai. Look out for the white signboard indicating Starhill Golf & Country Club, then be prepared to turn off towards Kempas. From the turn off to the club is about 10 minutes. Alternatively proceed along the North-South Expressway and turn off at the Kempas turn off. If you are coming from the 2nd Link or from Kuala Lumpur head towards Johor on the North-South Expressway and turn off at the Kempas exit.
