AST Q School is open to male golfers who are 48 years of age or older, who having qualified, and paid to join the AST the successful candidate can play in ASEAN PGA events which are open to professionals who are under 50 years of age, and only when they have turned 50 can they then compete in AST events for Prize Money.


ASEAN PGA Q School staged during and in conjunction with AST Q Schools and PRO Qualifier events are open to male and female golfers of any age, who having qualified, and paid to join the ASEAN PGA, these successful candidates can play in ASEAN PGA events which are open to professionals who are under 50 years of age.


Golfers wishing to play in AST and or ASEAN PGA events, but desire to retain their AMATEUR STATUS can do so by only competing for ranking points and waiving their rights and claim to any prize money above US$ 950 per event - funds which they might be entitled to have won above this amount will be held in credit and applied against future golfing related costs such as entry fees, membership fee, etc.


To pass Q School and become eligible for membership of the AST / AS PGA Tour, and or the ASEAN PGA candidates will need to return a 2 day score (2 cards) which total no more than 15 over par during the Q School and or the PRO Qualifier. 


Successful candidates who have attained 50 years of age, and having paid to become members of the, Asian Seniors Tour AST and or the ASEAN PGA may then enter and play as a professional golfer for prize money in AST and ASEAN PGA tournaments to be staged during the 2025 season.


Golfers wishing to retain their AMATEUR STATUS can do so and will be eligible to play in AST and ASEAN PGA events under the auspice of their Asian Amateur Golfer (AAG) and ASEAN Amateur credentials.


In the unfortunate event that a Q School candidate(s) might fail to return the required score, they may go on to re-take Q School during any of the various ASM professional tournaments to be staged during 2025.


Insurance - all golfers, their travelling companion(s) and or their caddie are advised and required to ensure that they have made arrangements to have their own valid personal travel, COVID and general medical insurance in place.


Please note your passport MUST still be valid for at least 6 more months from the date of your arrival


Present and past members of any recognised PGA and or Tour are NOT required to under go qualifying school 


Non-Member of the AST - Country Exemption (CE) Status

CE status applies only to Nationals, Legal Residents and members of the PGA of the host county, senior professional golfers who have reached 50 years of age prior to the 1st day of an ASM event can apply and if approved enter and play under CE status.


Please note that it will normally cost a non-member between US$ 200 and US$ 350 extra to register and play in an ASM event depending upon the prize money on offer, so it does make sense to join the AST


ALL participating PROs and AMATEUR golfers are entitled to enjoy a discount off the full cost of their tournament entry fees, in the form of last place prize money which is typically US$ 250 and is deducted from the full cost of their entry fees at registration.
