We had a most exciting finish to the 15th ASM Malaysia 2023 culminating in a nail biting sudden death play off between fellow Malaysian countrymen Nachimuthu and Rashid Ismail...

Nachimuthu battled his way via the 2 hole playoff... delivering back to back birdies to secure his maiden victory on the Asian Seniors Tour..

Worthy of special mention include:

Mardan Mamat (Singapore) a well known local favourite who was in contention from the start.

Tony Lam (Malaysia) who delivered the best scoring round for day 3 returning 70 finished with a most heroic display of golf on his last hole of the 54 hole tournament.  Having misjudged his tee off on the 18th and put his ball into the hazard where it lay plugged in the muddy bank of the island fairway, he managed to play his 2nd shot back onto the island fairway to then hit a long iron from some 240m out to within 1m of the flag for a tap in birdy...

15th ASM @ Malaysia 2023 - AMATEUR OPEN Champion

Haji Mohd. Rizal - representing Horizon Hills GCC delivered daily steady rounds of 38 + 38 for 76 on both days to return a 2 day score of 152 and emerge the Amateur Open Champion at the ASM Malaysia.

Rizal, brushed aside all comers, which included stiff competition fielded by the local Johor golf clubs, and leading golfers from neighbouring Singapore and Batam.

With his performance Rizal has qualified to join the ranks of the ASEAN PGA where he intends to play retaining his amateur golfer status in the our mid AM (40's division) until turning 50 in a few years time when he will be eligible to join the Asian Seniors Tour where we are confident he will make his mark!!
